As an electronics teacher I use the 555 as part of my arsenal when teaching students how to use a breadboard. I purchased this book out of curiosity and when it arrived I immediately sat down to read and evaluate it. The information is clear, concise, and well presented with excellent illustrations, however the schematics are a little small in my opinion but still work. The breadboard illustrations are first class and the oscilloscope screenshots are a definite plus. Mr. Rutherford takes the time to explain the operation of each circuit and what role the parts play in the circuit. He even encourages you to change the values of certain components to see what happens and goes as far to use simple mathematical equations to support the results. After each circuit there is a "some helpful tips" section that while helpful may become a little repetitious for some. References are made to some additional resources. Pointing readers to the software used to create the breadboard layouts as well as to the author's website was a plus. Lastly, there is a parts kit offered (source at the end of the book) at a reasonable cost. Quantity and educator discounts are available for the parts kit...I know, they just sent me a quote for 100 kits at a good price.
Great book. Jesse himself told me about it when i asked him on ig. I bought it on his word and it is worth every penny. I do a lot of circuit bending etc etc and I'm familiar with the 555 but this is an excellent way to brush up and learn things you probably missed. If your a beginner this will level you up quickly. Everything is shown in pictures after the descriptions so it's kinda hard to mess up. Well well well worth the money...DIBBS

It gave me much more insight into synth.
The book is just what it says it is and does a fine job of explaining how the chip works. I liked it quite a bit and will reference it again I am sure. Good basic info to have around.
Covers essentials.
I wish it was longer. Exactly the information I was looking for. This is what beginers of electronics need to know.Such as which way thee electrons move in a circuit, and what the function of the parts is. I highly recomend this book to anyone interested in electronics. A++.
