Judith A. Halstead, DNS, RN, ANEFJudith A. Halstead, PhD, RN, ANEF, FAAN, is a professor of Nursing and an executive associate dean for Academic Affairs at Indiana University School of Nursing, Indianapolis, IN. She served as the chairperson for the National League for Nursing’s Task Group on Nurse Educator Competencies which resulted in the development of evidence-based nurse educator core competencies. Dr. Halstead is past recipient of the Midwest Nursing Research Society’s Nursing Education Research Section Advancement of Science Award (2005) for her leadership in advancing the science of nursing education. In recognition of her accomplishments in nursing education, she was inducted as a fellow in the National League for Nursing Academy of Nursing Education in 2007 and in the American Academy of Nursing in 2011. Terrible book. The content is very basic for what it takes to function as an Educator. An example of some of the content includes the explanation that it is helpful to be knowledgeable about the content you are teaching. Duh. I skimmed a few chapters and I will not be picking this book up again, except maybe to throw it in the trash. I do not usually come back to post reviews but hope to save someone else from wasting their money.
Okay but a little hard to understand.
Hands down, this is a must-get text for every nursing educator or Nurses interested in Education. The text outlines every area well, is written well.
Priced just right
Needed the book for school. Pretty interesting for nurse educator MSN students. Would recommend to others in a program or current Nursing instructors.
This was supposed to be new,but had writing in it. Since I paid 50 dollars for it, I figured it was new.
New book, so there is nothing bad to say about it.
